Concept: Where Matter Moves grew out of a shared interest in gesture, material, and transformation. In my paintings, I work with pigment, water, charcoal, paying attention to how materials move, resist, settle, and leave traces over time. Kanami works with black ink and improvised movement, approaching the mark through both the hand and the body. Together, we explored what happens when painting extends beyond the canvas, allowing material and movement to shape one another through the process.
